Introduction:
The Khobaib Al Reem Wildlife Reserve was created over 15 years ago in an effort to assist in the preservation of several rare or endangered species. The most important of these, is the Arabian Black-tailed Gazelle or "Reem" It is from this animal that the name for the park was chosen and it is the most important species being presently worked with.
This gazelle was almost lost to the world by extinction, but luckily its numbers are increasing and the future of the species looks bright.
Here at the reserve we have had over 70 young born and are happy to be part of the effort in saving these beautiful animals.
The reserve, with the birth of over 500 animals that form the collection, can pride itself with the successful "First Middle Eastern" breedings of several important animals such as Nyala, Greater Kudu, Black Wildebeest, Blue Wildebeest, Southern Giraffe and the endangered Arabian Oryx.
We have in place the plans to expand our efforts with native Arabian animals and hope to support the preservation of several native endangered species.
